Happy National Nurses Day to all the remarkable individuals who have chosen nursing as their life’s pursuit. Your unwavering dedication, care, and spirit are the backbone of our communities, and essential to the success of AHF health fairs. With around 200 nurses volunteering at various stages—whether it’s at checkout, managing blood pressure checks, drawing blood, handling phone calls, or following up with clients—you truly do it all, and our health fairs would not be possible without you!
Thank you for your kindness and the compassionate care you provide, not just today, but every day. Your efforts profoundly impact the health and well-being of thousands of Alaskans. Many of you have been volunteering with AHF for decades, some for over 30 years, and your continued commitment is deeply appreciated.
For those just beginning their journey in nursing and not yet familiar with Alaska Health Fair, consider joining our nursing family. Volunteering with AHF not only helps countless individuals but also qualifies for professional license renewal—a win-win for personal growth and professional development.
May is also Military Appreciation Month, and we would like to recognize all members of the U.S. military for their service and sacrifices. We extend a special thank you to the many dedicated service members who also support AHF health fairs by volunteering their time and skills, performing essential tasks such as blood draws and assisting in various other capacities. We are profoundly grateful for your role as defenders of our nation and, for those who volunteer with AHF, as champions of public health. Thank you for your service.
