Each year AHF hosts a number of events for Alaska’s most vulnerable.
AHF looks forward to our partnership with the Fairbanks Housing and Homeless Coalition to put on Fairbanks Project Homeless Connect 2017. The goal of this event is to provide health check-ups, job search, legal services, free clothing, and haircuts for many of the underserved who live in and around the Fairbanks community. This event helps to pull resources from various health agencies to include a multitude of non-health resources such as DMV for free ID’s and phone services. The day includes a free meal and lots of free “offerings” and will be held on Wednesday, January 25th from 10:00am-3:00pm at the JP Jones Community Development Center at 2400 Rickert St. (south Fairbanks).
The Northern Region office of Alaska Health Fair will be providing blood test and screening services to homeless and near homeless looking for resources in the local community. We ask that individuals or businesses who are looking for a way to support this event; take a moment and sponsor someone who is needing our services during this dark and cold time of year by paying for one or more $45.00 chemistry/hematology tests. Do so, by calling the Fairbanks office at 907-374-6853 – we are accepting credit card donations over the phone now and through December 20th; or, send a check to Alaska Health Fair, 1949 Gillam Way, Suite #414, Fairbanks, Alaska 99701. 100% of your donation will go towards the blood tests, and your donation is tax-deductible. We are pledging a modest pool of AHF funds towards this project as well.
We appreciate any and all support for Our Mission: Promote statewide health education and preventative screenings; Our Vision: Optimal health for all Alaskans and Our Core Purpose: Promote health and wellness and save lives. Give monetarily or Give of your Time… Contact our Fairbanks office with any questions – 907-374-6853. Have a wonderful holiday!
