Alaska Health Fair, Inc. is nonprofit established in 1980. We deliver over 100 health education events (health fairs) each year giving thousands of Alaskans access to affordable comprehensive blood tests and connecting them with local health and wellness resources. AHF health fairs would not be possible without the help of hundreds of medical and non-medical volunteers–Alaskans like you!

Are you considering joining AHF volunteer family? Or, are you a returning volunteer who would appreciate a quick and fun refresher? We would be delighted to have you join us for the upcoming volunteer orientation scheduled for the mornings of August 26th and 27th!

The sessions are designed to give a quick yet comprehensive overview of volunteer duties; help connect and re-connect with other AHF volunteers and staff; ask any questions; enjoy refreshments; and, just have a good time.

Session 1, scheduled for August 26th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, will focus on blood testing-related duties and activities. If you’re interested in phlebotomy, this session is for you. We’ll cover protocols, specimen handling and processing procedures, quality control measures, and more.

Session 2, scheduled for August 27th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, will delve into general volunteering; office and health fair duties, etc. We will provide an overview of the health fair model, the major stations, volunteer roles and responsibilities, and more.

Sign up for one or both sessions. If your friends would consider volunteering for AHF, invite them! It’s always fun to volunteer together. Please RSVP so we can estimate the number of people attending. If you have any questions, reach out to us.
