Dear Friends!

Alaska Health Fair was founded in 1980 on the dream of a physician who believed that the road to longevity rests in healthy lifestyles, which develop, in part, through education and screenings. Almost every state had a health fair organization of their own back then. Today, as far as we know, Alaska Health Fair is one of the only two surviving original health fair nonprofits. It was an honor and a privilege to serve Alaskans for the last 40+ years. Please join us in wishing AHF a Happy Anniversary. May all the best years be yet to come! We are kicking off our new logo and some other exciting updates in coming days and weeks. Please stay tuned for more announcements.

We would not be here without you. We deeply appreciate you, our loyal clients, wonderful donors, dedicated volunteers, businesses and community representatives and other supporters who have done so much for us over the years. Thank you so much!

The year 2020 draws to a close. As you know, we canceled our events last spring due to the pandemic. However, thanks to our courageous volunteers, staff, and board leadership, we quickly resumed operations in the early summer. AHF was recognized as an Essential Service by the State of Alaska and received permission to reopen. Staff demonstrated ingenuity and perseverance in reinventing the health fair model to meet the new safety standards. As a result, just during the summer and fall of 2020, AHF conducted a record high of 75 events statewide. Over 200 volunteers stepped forward to help deliver the services. Consequently, thousands of Alaskans were able to access to the much-needed affordable blood screenings in a safe and secure environment.

We plan to continue offering the by-appointment blood draws in 2021. Our new schedule is published – please visit our website. We hope to see you there!

We have some spots available for community and worksite health fairs. We encourage those interested in hosting to contact our offices and learn about our new safety protocols: Anchorage (907) 278-0234 or Fairbanks (907) 374-6853.

We will be closed from December 21st through January 1st for a short break and will reopen on January 4th.

We wish you Happy Holidays!

Andrei, Betty, Jodie, Sharon, Ron, Rizanna, Debbie, Flory, Leilah, The Board of Directors and Hundreds of Volunteers
