Alaska Health Fair, Inc. (AHF) is pleased to announce the newest addition to our Board of Directors, Mary Weiss. With a distinguished career spanning several decades in the field of nursing and healthcare education, Mary brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to our organization.
Reflecting on her extensive experience in healthcare and her work across Alaska, Mary shared, “I first came to Alaska in 1968 as a nursing student having an adventuresome summer vacation. I am now retired from nursing but have worked as a nursing instructor for the University of Alaska Anchorage School of Nursing in Bethel and Anchorage. In addition, I have worked as a school nurse in Hoonah, a nursing administrator in Utquiagvik, and a clinical nurse in Nome, Fairbanks, Juneau, and Anchorage. Over the years, I have been impressed with the skilled and motivated staff and volunteers and the organizational efficiency with which Alaska Health Fairs provides health education and low-cost lab tests for Alaska. It is an honor to be on the board of Alaska Health Fairs.”
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Mary Weiss. We are honored to have her on our board and look forward to the invaluable contributions she will bring to Alaska Health Fair, Inc.
