UAA Student Union, University of Alaska Anchorage

Our partners at the Alaska Kidney Foundation are hosting their annual Professional Renal Education Conference this spring – and it’s a great opportunity for healthcare professionals to earn CEUs while learning about the latest in kidney care.

Who Should Attend
– Nurses and Nurse Practitioners
– Dietitians
– Social Workers
– Dialysis Technicians
– Anyone working in renal care settings

What to Expect
– Up to 8 contact hours of continuing education (approval pending)
– Topics selected by staff at dialysis clinics and nephrologist offices across Alaska
– A full day of specialized renal training

Why This Matters to Us
Kidney health is central to what we do at Alaska Health Fair. Our $45 comprehensive blood screening includes kidney function panels, and when we identify concerning results, our nurses follow up with education and referrals to resources like the Alaska Kidney Foundation.

With nearly half of our health fair participants showing abnormal A1C levels – a key risk factor for kidney disease – early detection and professional education go hand in hand.
