Your safety is important to us. Alaska Health Fair takes pride in the fact that our volunteers and staff–with your continued support and cooperation–were able to deliver over 200 events during the Pandemic, safely serving thousands of Alaskans.
We hope to continue to rely on your cooperation in keeping everyone safe. Please take a moment to review these important considerations before making an appointment for service or volunteering for Alaska Health Fair. The following guidelines apply to everyone who comes to an AHF event – clients, event attendees, volunteers, and exhibitors.
Masks & Social Distancing
In light of the recent increases in the number of COVID-19 cases and the spread of the extremely contagious variants, masks are required for everyone present at our events and inside the AHF office, including those individuals who are fully vaccinated.
We will continue to offer blood draws by appointment. This format ensures that we have ample space for social distancing, the service is delivered in minutes, and the number of people on site is kept to a minimum. We ask that everyone maintains a safe distance of 6 plus feet for social distancing.
Quarantine Procedures
Based on the recent guidance from local and federal authorities as of the writing of this post, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine after traveling both inside or out of Alaska before attending events.
We ask that unvaccinated individuals quarantine for 10 days after possible exposure to individuals with COVID-19 and follow all recommendations for travel, including testing and quarantine, when required. On the Day of the Appointment
The following are the questions to ask yourself to determine if it is safe for you to keep your appointment. If you answer yes to any of the following, please call to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You can also cancel or reschedule your appointment using the link conveniently located in the confirmation email that you received.
Have you had any of the following symptoms that is new in the last 10 days?
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Increased sputum (phlegm) production
If you have new symptoms, even mild ones, that could be COVID-19, please contact your health care provider or your local Public Health Center, and reschedule your appointment with AHF to a later date.
Volunteering
Please see the above questions. If you answered yes to any of the above, we ask that you abstain from volunteering at AHF event and contact our office.
