The Fairbanks at 50+ Summit is an engaging two-day event, scheduled for Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the FNSB Pioneer Park Civic Center. This summit was designed to foster community health by bringing people together with the shared objective of enjoying and assisting one another throughout the aging process. The event is open to everyone interested in aging well in Fairbanks.
The summit offers an exciting range of activities, such as:
- Health education and affordable blood tests conducted by Alaska Health Fair, Inc., a nonprofit organization with a history of hosting health fairs since 1980. Attendees can access free basic screenings, information, and resources. Blood screenings can be ordered individually or as part of a wellness package at nonprofit prices. Pre-registration for blood tests is recommended at www.alaskahealthfair.org (walk-ins are also welcome).
- The Art & Science of Aging presentation series, covering topics such as managing changing health conditions, deciphering legal matters, understanding new scientific research, exploring in-home care services, providing caregiver support, financial planning, technology, fostering intergenerational relationships, physical and mental fitness support, and promoting healthy aging in our community. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are available for health topic presentations at no additional cost!
- A First-Friday juried art show & reception featuring local artists who portray the beauty of aging through their work. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages provided by AARP while mingling with fellow attendees.
- An exhibit hall displaying a diverse assortment of organizations and businesses offering products and services for older adults. Uncover new opportunities and connect with valuable resources.

The host of the Fairbanks at 50+ Summit is Foundation Health Partners, a community-owned and community-operated health care system that includes Tanana Valley Clinic, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center. Foundation Health Partners was founded by a group of local volunteers who envisioned a new community-owned hospital after the great flood of 1967 devastated St. Joseph Hospital. Alaska Health Fair, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has been delivering health fairs since 1980. Their mission is to promote statewide health education and preventative screenings.
