In alignment with National Older Americans Month, Alaska Health Fair, Inc. is thrilled to extend a special invitation to all clients to join us at 2nd Annual Fairbanks 50+ Art & Science of Aging Healthy Living Summit, an event focused on fostering healthy aging.

Held at the majestic Carlson Center on Thursday and Friday, May 9th and 10th, this event promises to be a cornerstone for knowledge, health, and community connection. Alongside Foundation Health Partners and the Fairbanks North Star Borough, AHF is committed to supporting our seniors and their caregivers in their journey toward wellness and longevity.  AHF staff and volunteers from the Fairbanks area are proud partners and contributors to this special event.

This year’s summit has been meticulously planned to include 55 exhibitors and a host of lectures and demonstrations. These sessions cover a wide range of topics that are pertinent to those aged 50 and better, as well as to caregivers of all ages who are dedicated to enhancing the health and quality of life for elders they care for.

AHF will provide our hallmark comprehensive and affordable blood tests at the event until 2:00 pm. These offerings are a cornerstone of our core purpose: to Promote Wellness and Save Lives. We invite you to take advantage of these services to stay on top of your numbers. While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure timely service, allowing you more freedom to explore the rest of what the summit has to offer.

In addition to health screenings, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities designed to enrich the senior experience in Fairbanks. From expert talks on managing arthritis and dementia care to financial literacy and aging at home, the summit is a hub for resources that cater to the needs and interests of Alaska’s senior community. Special guest presentations by AARP, such as home gardening tips and cooking demonstrations, will also provide unique learning opportunities and inspiration for a healthy lifestyle.

We understand the importance of not just living longer, but living better. As such, the 50+ Summit planning team, which includes AHF, have collaborated with local health experts and organizations to ensure that the summit serves as a platform for education, engagement, and community support. It’s an event where curiosity meets wisdom, and where you can connect with friends, experts, and services that understand and cater to the needs of aging Alaskans.

Prepare for a day filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect. Don’t forget to pick up your “starter” bag prepared by AHF, filled with health education materials to kickstart your journey at the summit. It’s a token of our commitment to your health and well-being.
