Alaska Health Fair welcomes a new member of our team, Faye Kata. Faye will be working with Betty on worksite and community events in South Central Alaska:
“My name is Faye Kata. I was born and raised in Alaska and am of Cup’ik and Inupiaq descent. In 2004, graduated from Colony High School in Palmer, AK. I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with concentration in Exercise Science from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA in 2008.
I began my career in Health Education at Southcentral Foundation, where I planned, implemented and evaluated health fairs/events for the Alaska Native/American Indian community from 2010 to 2015. I worked with various groups in Alaska to help provide Alaskans with information to improve their physical, spiritual, emotional and mental health and wellness.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, Zumba® Fitness classes, subsistence gathering, drinking yaqona (traditional drink from Fiji, used to bring people together to story tell and socialize) and video chatting with my friends and family in Fiji. I look forward to linking Alaskans to the proper community services that help maintain and improve their health and wellness through my work here at Alaska Health Fair, Inc.”
We look forward to many successful events and seasons with Faye on our team.
